Nikki Reed Says 'New Moon' Wolves 'Bring A Warmth' To Film
Twilight" mastermind Stephenie Meyer describes Rosalie Hale as the most beautiful woman in the world — a tall, statuesque vampire with long, wavy, blond hair and eyes resembling violets. Onscreen, 21-year-old beauty Nikki Reed has lived up to that impossible description, endearing herself to fans even as she further antagonizes their beloved Bella Swan. Rounding out a week of Cullen family interviews that has included Jackson Rathbone, Elizabeth Reaser and Kellan Lutz, we caught up with the refreshingly frank actress to talk about the joys of a half-naked Taylor Lautner, rainbow analysis and why she'll never, ever own a Rob Pattinson doll.
MTV: What's the biggest difference, in your personal opinion, between the three "Twilight" books currently being filmed as the "Saga"?
Nikki Reed: The biggest difference? Well, I know the similarities — it's an ongoing love story. I guess the action increases and the excitement and visual stimulation. But I think "New Moon" really revolves around this intense love triangle, and with "Eclipse," it's more heightened.
MTV: What's your favorite scene in "New Moon"?
Reed: Anything that Taylor Lautner is in. Seriously, the kid is — he's not a kid, he's a young man — but he's incredible. And I'm not saying that because he takes his shirt off in every scene. [Laughs.] Seriously, you forget that he's half-naked in every scene, because he is so incredible. He makes this film amazing.
MTV: Tell us about your favorite new character to join the franchise, who wasn't in the original film.
Reed: All of the wolves. They bring a very obvious warmth. To see people actually interacting and wrestling and touching each other and rolling around in the mud and being a bunch of boys? That was a nice addition. Because the vampires are all very ... cold. It sounds super cliché, but there was a lot of interaction, a lot of human interaction [in "New Moon"]. It was nice.

Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner: Studio Stop
Having just arrived back in Tinseltown from Vancouver, Kristen Stewart was spotted out at a local Malibu studio with Taylor Lautner on Friday (October 30).
The “Twilight” co-stars are currently gearing up for promotional duties tied to the November 20th release of “New Moon” - as they were at the studio to watch the final cut of the vampire flick.
Chatting with Entertainment Tonight about the upcoming release, Taylor said, “‘New Moon’ is going to be stepped up a whole other notch. The whole Wolf Pack is very tightly bound—they are very close.”
Agreeing with her pal, Miss Stewart tells, “There’s something about the wolves, it’s such a different movie, all of a sudden this completely new world has been introduced. It’s more animalistic, more violent.”

Chris Weitz Talks About "Scarier" Wolfpack
From MTV Movie News: For fans paying attention to the new "New Moon" TV spots that came out over the past week and a half, they would notice that the wolf Taylor Lautner's Jacob Black transforms into looks a bit different than the original wolf in the first teaser trailer.
Well, that's because it is different — about 500 times different.
"Every CGI shot goes through sometimes hundreds of iterations," director Chris Weitz explained. "Like, for instance, that first shot we put out was a work in progress. It was probably version 150 or something. That shot itself is now at version 550, I think."
Lots of tinkering went on in the four months from when the first trailer was released until the most recent teasers, but that's not even the final version that's going to be seen in theaters. "We're still tweaking them to the last possible day," he said.
With the release of "New Moon" less than a month away, that day looms ever closer. Fortunately, the wolves are looking significantly more terrifying than they did the first time around.
"They're much scarier by now. That was always the aim," Weitz said. "The aim was to make them as fierce as possible, and they just got more and more and more dangerous as time went on."
Recent trailers have shown the wolf pack in its entirety, and Jacob is not the only werewolf fans have seen change. Still, his jumping transformation was the money shot Weitz wanted to make sure "New Moon" viewers saw — even though the animation hadn't been perfected yet.
"We really wanted to show with that first trailer [that] there were going to be these werewolves; that we could turn a guy into a werewolf in midflight, which was no small achievement," Weitz said. "We were putting out a proof of the concept at the time, but it wasn't the full-fledged, pimped-out wolf that it was going to end up being."
My opinion: At first I thought the wolves did look a little to cute and I swear they seemed smaller. I can't wait to see the whole pack together in action on the big screen.

Kellan Lutz: Hollywood Hunk
Keeping busy after having just recently returned from Vancouver, Kellan Lutz was spotted running his day’s errands in Hollywood on Wednesday (October 28).
The Emmett Cullen hunk looked quite handsome in his penchant newsboy cap, giving a wave to paparazzi as he went about his business.
Meanwhile, Kellan recently dished his thoughts on the biggest difference between the “Twilight” saga films.
He tells, “What’s the biggest difference? That’s an interesting question. Because the books are already about different subjects. Stephenie [Meyer] wrote them with the Romeo and Juliet aspect, and then, each one has a different persona. It’s a really cool concept. But as far as the directors go, each director is different. Catherine [Hardwicke] was very energetic, and she made this beautiful movie. Chris [Weitz] had this really cool, really laid-back [vibe], but has a great sense of how to do CGI and how to make these wolves look real and bigger than life versus just some computerized image. Then David Slade, with his action background and his indie style, just mixed the two. The movies are going to be unique in their own aspects, and that’s what’s really interesting — it’s not the same director doing each one. We, as actors, got to see different styles of [directing]. So it doesn’t feel old, ever.”
